What is outer canthus of eyes?

The outer canthus, or lateral canthus, is the point where the upper and lower eyelids meet on the outer edge of the eye, closest to the ear. This is the opposite end from the inner canthus, or medial canthus, which is located on the inner edge of the eye closest to the nose. The outer canthus is important for the structural integrity of the eye and helps to protect and lubricate the ocular surface. It is also a common site for skin cancer and other lesions, particularly in people who have spent a lot of time in the sun without wearing protective eyewear.
